Cohen, Moshe

Moshe Cohen was born in Ioannina, Greece, in 1919. Shortly after his birth his family immigrated to Jerusalem. In 1940, Cohen graduated from law school in Jerusalem. Cohen began his career as a lawyer, first working for Haim Cohn and then establishing his own firm. In 1950 Cohen received his first judicial position in the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court, and in 1958 he became President of the Magistrate’s Court of Jerusalem. In 1960 Cohen was appointed to the District Court of Jerusalem and in 1981 to the Israeli Supreme Court. Cohen died in 1982, shortly after his appointment as a Supreme Court justice, at the age of 63.
