Bach, Gavriel

Gavriel Bach served as a justice on the Israeli Supreme Court from 1982-1997. He was born in Germany in 1927 and emigrated to British Mandate Palestine in 1940.  Justice Bach studied law at University College London and graduated with honors in 1949. He commenced his career as a prosecutor in 1953. In 1961 he was appointed as Deputy Attorney General and as the second of the three prosecutors in the Eichmann trial. In 1969, he was appointed as the State Attorney. He served as chairman of several senior government committees and fact finding commissions, including the Central Elections Committee in 1984.
